Job Description

The Implementation Engineer ensures successful deployment and ongoing maintenance of complex systems. Efficiently managing system configuration and integration is central to the Implementation engineer's responsibilities. Collaboration and continuous improvement promote operational excellence and enhance customer satisfaction.
Duration: 3 Months
Key Responsibilities

• Customize system functionality via IDIT Setup Wizards (Product Designer, Security Manager, Workflow Builder, Document Manager, Rule Editor).
• Configure products, covers, underwriting, clauses, product parameters.
• Manage roles, privileges, org hierarchy.
• Build workflows (actions, events, queues, escalations, correspondences).
• Design and manage document templates, tags, and communication types (files, SMS, email).
• Configure payment plans, GL mapping, dunning steps.
• Maintain loss events, litigation setup, damage codes, reserves, agendas.
• Manage reference tables (values, uploads).
• Adjust system parameters and define/update business rules.
• Work with BAs using setup workbooks; maintain and update them.
• Create agreements (e.g., commission, collective).
• Perform unit testing before handover.
• Use Promotion Manager for managing SQL-based promotions.
• Support Dev-SIT release process (CI pipeline) and resolve setup defects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors in IT, Computer Science, or Insurance-related field.

Required Experience

• 3-6 years in insurance tech implementation/systems integration.
• Experience with platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek, Tial, Sapiens), REST/SOAP APIs, SQL, XML/JSON.

Required Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of short-term insurance products.
• Familiarity with FSCA, POPIA, compliance frameworks.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and techno-functional skills.
• Knowledge of IT landscape, OO, multi-tier apps, DB design, SQL.
• Ability to align customer requirements with system functionality.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and teamwork skills.
• Fast learner, self-starter, adaptable.
