As the Impairments Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and management of credit risk impairment models. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in credit risk and impairments model development to make a significant impact in our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of credit risk impairment models in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Analyze and interpret credit risk data, economic trends, and industry information to optimize impairments models
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including risk management, finance, and technology to enhance existing models and develop new models
• Conduct regular model validation exercises and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines
• Monitor and analyze the performance of impairments models, providing recommendations for improvements and adjustments as necessary
• Keep up-to-date with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging trends related to impairments modeling

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, or related field
• Honours Degree preferred

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Minimum of 4 years' experience in credit risk management within the financial services sector
• Strong background in impairments model development, including knowledge of IFRS 9 or other relevant accounting standards
• Proficiency in statistical modeling techniques and software (e.g., SAS, Python, R)
• Solid understanding of credit risk analytics, financial products, and industry-specific factors
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide meaningful insights
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively present findings and interact with stakeholders at all levels
