Job Description

This role is suited to a CA(SA) with advanced technical accounting skills and proven leadership experience, looking to play a key role in IFRS-driven reporting and financial advisory within the insurance space. The successful candidate will be comfortable interpreting complex accounting requirements and translating them into clear, value-adding financial insights.
Lead the technical accounting agenda, interpreting and embedding IFRS standards across the business
Ensure accounting policies and reporting frameworks remain compliant and fit for purpose
Oversee high-quality statutory reporting, including complex GAAP conversions
Translate technical accounting requirements into practical guidance for business units
Act as a trusted finance partner to senior leadership, providing insight to support strategic outcomes
Develop and mentor finance team members, fostering technical excellence
Champion process improvement and finance transformation initiatives
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 7+ years' experience in financial services; insurance exposure advantageous
Strong technical accounting and advisory background
Practical experience with IFRS 17 and insurance-specific accounting standards
Big 4 audit/advisory experience with people leadership exposure
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Deep knowledge of IFRS and GAAP
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
Able to manage competing priorities in a high-pressure environment
Demonstrated leadership and team development skills
Qualification:
Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) designation non-negotiable.
