Job Description

We are seeking an ICT Technician for a permanent role based in East London, Eastern Cape
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• Must have Information Technology related degree/diploma
• At least 5 years ICT technical experience
• Valid drivers
• Problem analysis/solving and good interpersonal skills
• Understanding of the TCP-IP Networking Stack
• Microsoft Platform: Server Operating Systems, Remote Desktop Protocol, Active Directory, DNS
• Linux - understanding of the platform and getting around, OpenVPN would be advantageous
• Mikrotik OS knowledge would be advantageous

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:
Marketing -

• Assist BD regarding the technical specifications for tenders/proposals etc.
• Client Liaison

Processes -

• Responsible for maintaining the FMS computer system, including the local area network (LAN).
• Performing backups and restores as required, and when DR tests are required
• Ensure security of the systems are maintained
• Passwords to the administrative user-ids maintained and reset as required
• Troubleshooting any routine problems that users cannot fix on their own, such as a problem with the printer or a computer that freezes
• Performance Monitoring of client systems as well as their own, and reporting proactively on issues picked up
• Train market administrators and staff on how to resolve simple computer malfunctions and problems
• Keep documentation up to date, and key resolutions of all incidents and user queries
• Research and understand clients' requirements
• Keep management and designated others fully and accurately informed concerning problems
• Ensure confidentiality of FMS and client privileged information
• Any other reasonable tasks as required by senior management from time to time

Salary: Dependent on experience : R30 000 - R40 000 per month (Negotiable)
