Job Purpose

The Hyster Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate operation of a Hyster forklift (or similar material-handling equipment) to move, load, offload, and stack goods within the warehouse or yard. The role ensures smooth flow of materials while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operate a Hyster forklift to load, offload, stack, and move goods, pallets, and materials. Conduct daily pre-inspection checks on the forklift and report any defects or maintenance needs. Ensure all goods are handled safely and securely to prevent damage or loss. Assist with inventory counts and general warehouse duties when required. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the work area. Follow all company safety policies, operating procedures, and PPE requirements. Accurately complete load sheets, delivery notes, and other documentation as required. Work collaboratively with warehouse staff, dispatchers, and supervisors to ensure efficient operations. Adhere to deadlines and ensure timely loading/unloading of vehicles. Comply with all site rules and traffic management procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 10 / Matric certificate preferred. Valid forklift (Hyster) license and certification. Minimum of

2-3 years' experience

operating a Hyster or equivalent forklift in a warehouse or logistics environment. Knowledge of basic warehouse safety and load handling procedures. Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment. Ability to read and understand load sheets and instructions. Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.

Working Conditions

Work may involve shifts, weekends, or overtime as required. Work is primarily conducted in warehouses, yards, or outdoor environments. Exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions may occur.
