HR Intern

at MSF Southern Africa, you'll support our HR team in creating a thriving workplace for our dedicated staff, ensuring they can focus on delivering life-saving care. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on HR experience, develop your skills, and contribute to a meaningful mission.

What You'll Do




Support the employee journey

: Draft offer letters, contracts, and onboarding schedules, create employee profiles in BambooHR, and ensure all documentation is complete and verified.

Drive HR operations

: Update organograms, track visas, manage payroll data, and coordinate logistics for staff relocations and wellness events.

Enhance performance management

: Monitor probation evaluations, track contract renewals, and conduct quality checks on performance reviews.

Promote staff well-being

: Assist with Employee Assistance Program (EAP) queries, organize Staff Wellness Days, and support monthly wellness talks.

Ensure smooth HR processes

: Arrange logistics for HR events, file disciplinary records, advise staff on grievance procedures, and maintain up-to-date HR records.

Contribute to team success

: Conduct staff surveys, prepare monthly HR reports, and step in to support colleagues with a positive, team-oriented attitude.

We're seeking a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a passion for HR and a commitment to humanitarian values.





Here's what you bring:



Qualifications & Skills




A Degree or National Diploma in Human Resource Management, Industrial and Organisational Psychology, or a related field. Knowledge of South African Labour Law (e.g., LRA, BCEA, Employment Equity). Understanding of the employee life cycle and HR generalist activities. Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus. No prior experience required--just a strong desire to learn and grow! Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HR systems like BambooHR is a bonus.

What We Offer




Monthly Stipend: R5,000. Benefits: 100% medical aid contribution, transport allowance, and cell phone allowance. Resources: A fully equipped workspace with a computer, internet, stationery, and more.

Contract: 12-month internship, starting January 2026.
