About NACOSA:
NACOSA (Networking HIV, AIDS Community of Southern Africa) is a leading non-profit organisation working in communities across South Africa. It focuses on building strong, resilient organisations and communities to respond effectively to HIV, AIDS, TB, gender-based violence (GBV), Human Rights, and broader public health and social challenges.
The duties and responsibilities of the HR Officer will include, but not limited to:

  • Deliver high-quality HR administration across the employee lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Support recruitment processes from job adverts to onboarding.
  • Coordinate induction and orientation to ensure a positive start for new employees.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and update the HRIS system.
  • Assist with performance management processes and staff development initiatives.
  • Assist with the submission of the WSP and ATR reports and ensure compliance to SETA.
  • Representation on the EE/SDF Committee.
  • Support employee engagement and wellness programmes.
  • Handle general HR queries from staff in a professional and timely manner.
  • Handle all exit interviews and gather all exit compensation documents and submit timeously to payroll.
  • Assist with ad-hoc day-to-day general administrative work in the Human Resource Department.
  • Support a healthy and supportive culture among management and staff that adhere to the NACOSA values
  • Uphold and exemplify NACOSA, its vision, mission, values, and objectives, etc.
Required qualifications, skills, and experience
  • A diploma or degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 3+ years in an HR administrative or HR officer role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and labour legislation.
  • Previous NGO experience is required.
  • Previous experience in submission of the WSP/ATR reporting will be advantages.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and HR systems (e.g., Sage, Pay Space, or similar)
  • Working understanding of applicant tracking systems and recruitment job portals.
  • A valid driver's license and own vehicle (travelling from time to time is a requirement of this position
