Introduction

The Hub Coordinator is responsible for the daily execution of last-mile delivery operations at the hub. This role ensures that drivers are well-trained, operationally prepared, and that all dispatch and delivery activities run efficiently and within SLA. The Hub Coordinator serves as the key link between drivers, operations planning, and the central business team, balancing people management, process adherence, and performance delivery.

Job description

Responsibilities:

Driver & Team Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers, fostering loyalty and professionalism. Oversee driver presentation and ensure brand standards are met at all times. Conduct driver onboarding and refresher training sessions, ensuring full understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Address and resolve driver misconduct or performance issues promptly and fairly.

Operational Planning & Dispatch

With support from our Zone Planning team, the Hub Coordinator should plan and allocate drivers based on expected order volumes and delivery routes. Manage daily dispatch operations, ensuring all orders leave on time and are correctly assigned. Coordinate and monitor multiple delivery timeslots per day (currently one, with plans to expand). Ensure deliveries meet SLA requirements, and proactively address issues that could cause delays. Oversee the returns process, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of all returned parcels.

Hub Administration & Continuous Improvement

Monitor and maintain dispatch equipment (computers, scanners, printers), ensuring functionality and readiness. Order replacement or additional equipment ahead of depletion to prevent downtime or delays. Maintain accurate hub-level reports, including attendance, dispatch stats, returns and exceptions.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

Track and report key metrics such as dispatch start time, delivery completion time, and SLA compliance. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce delays in daily operations. Work closely with central operations and business development teams to align on client expectations and performance goals.

Minimum requirements

2 years' experience in logistics, operations, or delivery management (preferably last-mile). Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with a hands-on management style. Solid understanding of driver routing, delivery SLAs, and dispatch workflows. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to guide and train users confidently. Good administrative and reporting skills. * Proficiency with basic operational systems and mobile dispatch tools.
