Purpose of the Job

To ensure HSEQ compliance through co-ordination of HSEQ management systems, procedures, risk assessments, operational risks, staff safety and contractor management processes to ensure that the business operations are carried in a safe and efficient manner

What you've done

Baseline:

o NQF Level 7 (Degree/ BTech) Level in Engineering / Environmental Science, Process Engineering; Safety Management.
o 5 years in Petroleum/oil and gas industry, operations, HSEQ standards and management systems, awareness of various associations and agencies, auditing experience, risk/safety/environmental assessment experience

What you'llbe doing

Operational Safety Support
  • Ensure that Site always complies to permit & Licence (AEL, TEP, STP, etc)
  • Cultivate good HSE culture and standards.
  • Reductions of workplace related incidents.
PERFORMANCE TRENDS ANALYSIS
  • Management and facilitation of timely KPI reporting to all internal stakeholders, and external stakeholders as required by Engen.
  • Analyse safety performance and devise new strategies to improve.
  • Drive proper upskilling of operations personnel.
  • Work with frontline on development of new initiatives.
  • Drive operations personnel to achieve excellent HSEQ performance.
ASSURANCE AND INVESTIGATIONS

o Ensure management of incident is done in accordance with Engen's procedures.
o Assist with development of corrective action plan and monitor effectiveness.
o Monitor closure of the findings
o Develop HSEQ audit plan and conduct audits as per plan.
o Lead, advise and partake in incident management process (Reporting, investigations and closure)
o Track corrective action implementation up to closure and ensure sharing of learnings.

HSE Management Systems
  • Conduct employee HSE training and awareness, monitor compliance to training schedule /plan.
  • Conduct contractor performance audits in line with HSE standards and procedures.

  • Implementation and maintenance of the HSE Management System and ISO standards to ensure compliance within the Lubes Supply Chain HSEMS
  • To implement HSEQ Strategic initiatives through trainings and coaching sessions to ensure objectives are met as per planned.
  • Ensure compliance to HSEQ polices by providing support and assistance to the business in understanding HSEQ management system, attending & presenting at key monthly, quarterly and annually meetings and facilitation during the contractor onboarding processes.
  • Develop and ensure implementation of safety and health procedures.
  • Undertake HSE risk assessments to identify hazards using various risk tools.
  • Develop and consolidate environmental improvement initiatives and targets in order to meet the objectives.
  • Oversee the implementation of all MCF requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental legal and permit requirements is evaluated by using a recognized auditing checklist.
  • Conduct required environmental monitoring in line with HSEMS /permit / license requirements.
  • Ensure implementation of ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Conduct contractor pre-qualification assessment and evaluate compliance through contractor audits.
  • Interact with various internal (departments) and external stakeholders (E.g., Government agencies and national associations)
