Your Mission Amandla is seeking a well-experienced HR professional keen for the challenge of establishing our newly-formed HR department. This individual will have experience running an already-established department at an organisation of a similar size to our 191-strong team. The successful candidate will be responsible fostering a positive and inclusive workplace that celebrates our diversity. They will help drive our caring and collaborative culture by developing wellness within the organisation and development plans for staff, while also recruiting staff for our team of 191 who are a fit for our culture and passionate about our mission. Key Responsibilities Growing staff morale to provide the most impact for our beneficiaries and to maximise the value of donor contributions Team building Creating individual personal development plans for staff Performance management and review Recruitment and onboarding of new staff Conflict resolution Outputs Youxe2x80x99ve created staff personal development plans for 100% of 191 staff in your first six months Youxe2x80x99ve updated our HR policy and procedures within your first three months Developed and implemented a staff wellness plan that makes staff feel seen and essential to be implemented within your first year Recruit, hire, and onboard 20 new staff within first six months Competencies and Skills Strong ability to think strategically about our wellness goals for staff and to generate appropriate action plan to accomplish those goals Strong knowledge of labour legislation Exceptional multitasking skills Equally comfortable with Microsoft Office products as with adopting relevant performance management and other software tools Excellent communication (written and oral) Fluent English, preferably also proficient Xhosa and Afrikaans Core Values Empathy- you go beyond HR procedures to getting to know staff needs and goals and are genuinely concerned for their well-being and personal growth Accountability- you take ownership of new projects, and proactively manage forward by thinking two steps ahead Confidentiality- staff feel as comfortable discussing with you performance targets as they do personal matters affecting their work Collaborative- central to Amandlaxe2x80x99s work is that we co-create projects with our community, and we do so internally too. So, while youxe2x80x99ll need to be very capable of working independently, youxe2x80x99ll also need to be comfortable sharing and planning with the leadership team.
