Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY
Provide operational professional support across the full range of HR activities, including the coordination of HR and L&D administration; creating and maintaining appropriate databases; and ensuring all tasks are delivered on time and to the required quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and co-ordinate the Human Resources function for Tswalu:
HR Transactional activities:

  • Maintain employee records electronically and in files
  • Maintain employee records related databases implemented by management
  • Draft all employment contracts and offer letters for new employees
Employee policy application:
  • Assist with the implementation of policies and procedures as amended by Tswalu Management and ensure communication to all employees
  • Address any queries related to policies and procedures
Industrial Relations:
  • Sit in as observer in disciplinary hearings to monitor procedures in line with the Labour Relations Act and Company policies and procedures
  • Assist with disciplinary procedures when needed
  • Assist with employee grievances
  • Advise management on company policies and procedures
Recruitment and Selection:
  • Assist Line Managers with job descriptions and update templates as required
  • Assist Line Managers and Heads of Department with recruitment and selection process
  • Onboarding and assistance with the induction of all new employees
Attendance and Leave Management:
  • Enroll all new employees on ESS system
  • Processing of all leave transactions
  • Filing of documentation; prepare and consolidate monthly report Administer biometric time and attendance systems.
  • Compile and submit monthly leave and weekly absenteeism reports.
  • Track and manage leave balances and related queries.
Training & Development Support
  • Assist the Skills Development Facilitator with training coordination and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain training registers and expense logs.
  • Support the scheduling and preparation of Training and Employment Equity Committee meetings.
Payroll & Statutory Compliance
  • Prepare monthly payroll inputs, including leave and overtime data.
  • Assist in Employment Equity (EE) reporting and UIF documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with labour regulations and internal policies.
General:
  • Assist with all IOD Claims to the WCA
  • Print payslips for those not able to access ESS system
  • Be available to serve on various committees that are required by the company and by law
  • Assist with internal communication
  • Assist with any other HR and L&D Admin functions when required
  • To adhere and participate in the Long Runs 4 C initiatives and GER standards
QUALIFICATIONS
  • B Com/BA in Human Resources
  • Valid Drivers License
EXPERIENCE
  • 2 - 3 years working experience in Human Resources, preferably in the Hospitality industry
  • Experience with time & attendance systems and payroll processes
  • Working knowledge of South African labour laws and compliance standards
