Global Manufacturing concern is seeking the expertise of a dynamic HR Officer (Temp) to join their team.

Main Purpose of the Role:

The HR Officer works with the EMEA HR Manager multisite to enable the implementation of the Companyxe2x80x99s human resources policies and strategies and optimize on operational excellence. The position involves the maintenance, implementation and management of human resources systems, application of statutory policies, procedures, and support for the organization at departmental level.

The role is responsible for end-to-end HR, including data collection for payroll purposes, operational activities, performance management and employee relations, recruitment and overall operational support to site and global management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree or honors in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology or related field
  • Minimum 5 + yearsxe2x80x99 working experience in HR function, ideally in a manufacturing company
  • Knowledge and experience of managing labor union (activities) is preferred; familiar with South African labor law, experienced in handling employee relationship cases
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and able to communicate with different level of employees effectively
  • Strong interpersonal and professional skills
  • High degree of flexibility and team orientation
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for collecting sitexe2x80x99s payroll queries and escalating them to the HR Business Partner for processing on a monthly basis. Documenting new employee data and timeously submitting the data for payroll processing
  • Research on comparative SA benchmarking exercise and finalize data with HR Manager/ Business Partner
  • Promptly answers questions for employees and managers on site. Resolve employee relations issues including sensitive EEO matters, investigations and reports including collaborative recommendations to the HR Manager multisite /HR Business Partner
  • Implementation and application of performance management procedures and evaluations for site
  • Recruits, conduct first round interviews, and selects employees to fill vacant positions; Ensure compliance to recruitment, enrolment, probation review, contract review, termination; Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward Company goals
  • Attend onsite meetings and ensure to compile HR weekly reporting with HR Manager multisite
  • Plan and develop training and development programs to meet the organizationxe2x80x99s training needs and to develop employee competencies. Develop and run training programs as required
  • Oversee and manage performance appraisal system that drives high performance
  • Prepare and maintain a system for periodic appraisals while ensuring all employee are discussed and assigned annual targets
  • Uphold departmentxe2x80x99s confidentiality and POPI standards by ensuring correct information is shared with managers at the appropriate time
  • Verify operational data with HR Manager multisite and or HR Business Partner
  • Drive and implement the desired company culture that will require change management activities. Includes regular communication with employees
  • Ensure employees attend scheduled town halls and interim global meetings and discussions
  • Compile signed timesheets and submit them to the HR business partner for processing purposes
  • Ensure that all HR reporting is completed both locally and for global requirements by the due date. Submit all required data
  • Be involved with Health & Safety, ensuring that best practice is followed, and the site is compliant. Coordinate and injuries or return to work needs of employees
  • Cultivate a harmonious work environment among all employees, while refraining from irrelevant interdepartmental discussions
  • Any other projects or tasks as assigned
