Key Responsibilities:
1.
MIBCO Compliance & Returns
Ensure full compliance with the Motor Industry Bargaining Council (MIBCO) requirements.
Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual MIBCO returns accurately and on time.
Maintain accurate employee records aligned with MIBCO agreements (wages, working hours, benefits).
Support payroll with MIBCO-related queries and deductions.
Act as liaison between the company and MIBCO inspectors and representatives.
2.
Training, Skills Development & WSP/ATR Submissions
Conduct training needs analysis aligned to operational requirements.
Coordinate and manage internal and external training interventions for both skilled and semi-skilled workers.
Prepare and submit
Workplace Skills Plans (WSP)
and
Annual Training Reports (ATR)
to the relevant SETA.
Ensure all training is tracked, documented, and contributes to both operational development and BBBEE scorecards.
Manage learnerships, apprenticeships, and internships aligned with the Sector Skills Plan and manufacturing priorities.
3.
BBBEE Implementation & Support
Support the HR Manager and B-BBEE consultants in driving compliance across all pillars of the BBBEE scorecard, with a focus on
Skills Development
and
Employment Equity
.
Maintain supporting documentation and audit trails for B-BBEE verifications.
Assist with gathering and preparing documentation for BBBEE audits.
Coordinate employment equity initiatives and meetings in line with the EE Plan.
4.
Recruitment & Onboarding
Assist with recruitment processes to attract diverse and appropriately skilled talent.
Conduct onboarding and induction programs focused on productivity and compliance.
5.
HR Administration & Compliance
Maintain employee records (digital and hardcopy), contracts, warnings, and HR registers.
Ensure compliance with
Labour Relations Act (LRA)
,
BCEA
,
OHSA
, and
EEA
.
Maintain accurate time and attendance records in support of payroll.
6.
Employee Relations & Labour Law
Support union engagement processes and ensure consistency in disciplinary actions.
Act as first point of contact for employee relations matters and grievances.
Facilitate disciplinary hearings in line with MIBCO and internal policies.
7.
Performance Management
Support line managers with performance appraisals and disciplinary procedures.
Track performance issues and coach supervisors on progressive discipline.
Minimum Qualifications:
National Diploma or Degree
in Human Resource Management / Industrial Relations / Labour Law.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum
3-5 years HR generalist experience
, preferably in an
automotive or wire harness manufacturing environment
.
Strong working knowledge of
MIBCO
processes and returns is
essential
.
Experience managing
WSP/ATR submissions
and
BBBEE compliance documentation
.
Exposure to
unionized environments
and manufacturing HR dynamics.
Skills & Competencies:
Deep knowledge of
South African Labour Laws
, especially relating to the
motor industry
.
Familiar with
MIBCO Main Agreement
, HRIS, and payroll systems.
Strong coordination, planning, and reporting skills.
Proficient in
MS Excel
(including reporting tools),
Word
, and HR information systems.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
Working Conditions:
Based at the plant; regular interaction with production and shop-floor staff.
Requires working under pressure to meet reporting deadlines (especially MIBCO, SETA, BBBEE).
