HR Manager
to lead our Human Resources function, ensuring compliance with labour legislation, supporting employee relations, and driving HR strategy.
Key Responsibilities
As the HR Manager, you will take ownership of the full HR function. Your responsibilities will include:
Employee Relations & Compliance
Lead, chair, and prepare documentation for
disciplinary hearings
.
Draft, issue, and manage
warnings
and corrective actions in line with labour law.
Represent the company at the
CCMA
and external disputes.
Manage grievance procedures and resolve employee disputes fairly and timeously.
Ensure all HR practices comply with the
Labour Relations Act, BCEA, EE Act, and other legislation
.
Maintain proper record-keeping of hearings, warnings, and disputes.
HR Operations & Administration
Draft and update employment contracts, addendums, policies, and company procedures.
Oversee accurate capturing of leave, overtime, and deductions into
payroll systems (SAGE)
.
Monitor HR filing systems to ensure employee records are always up-to-date.
Ensure
UIF/UI19 forms
and monthly
Provident Fund schedules
are submitted on time.
Manage HR reporting (turnover rates, absenteeism, disciplinary records, etc.).
Talent Management & Recruitment
Manage full recruitment cycle: advertising, CV screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
Conduct induction programmes for new staff.
Develop and oversee
performance management
processes.
Support workforce planning and implement
succession planning
strategies.
Identify training needs and coordinate
skills development programmes
.
Liaise with SETAs and manage compliance for workplace skills plans where required.
Leadership & Strategy
Lead the HR department, guiding and mentoring HR Officers/assistants.
Advise executive management on HR strategy, trends, and risks.
Contribute to organisational
workforce and succession planning
.
Implement
change management
strategies to support organisational growth.
Develop and implement HR
policies and procedures
aligned to best practice.
Prepare HR reports and analytics for management meetings and board presentations.
Compensation, Benefits & Employee Wellbeing
Ensure salaries, overtime, and benefits are processed accurately and on time.
Handle employee benefit queries (medical aid, provident fund, UIF, etc.).
Manage leave administration and ensure fair application of leave policies.
Drive
employee wellness initiatives
to support staff morale and retention.
Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across the institution.
Health & Safety
Collaborate with managers to ensure compliance with
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
requirements.
Support and monitor workplace safety initiatives and employee wellbeing programmes.
Conduct periodic HR compliance audits to identify risks and mitigate them.
Requirements
A relevant
HR qualification
(Degree in Human Resources / Labour Relations).
5-7 years HR experience
, with at least 2 years in a management role.
Proven experience in
.
Solid understanding of South African labour legislation and HR best practice.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to handle sensitive matters with confidentiality and professionalism.
