Job Description


HR Manager

Our client based in Pinetown is seeking an organized and experienced HR Manager. The ideal candidate should have a manufacturing background, and be familiar with HR & Payroll, Industrial Relations, and Health & Safety.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12/Matric, BCom Human Resource Management or similar
  • Good EQ
  • +5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a manufacturing environment (Staff compliment +-200)
  • Valid driverxe2x80x99s license
  • Previous HR Management experience
  • Prior exposure to working with SAGE VIP Payroll Software, time and attendance system & Microsoft
  • Handle confidential matters with discretion
  • Knowledge of BCEA/labour law/CCMA
  • Strong emotional intelligence and levels of adaptability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills
  • Good administrative skills
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Must be self-motivated, driven, results orientated and able to take accountability
  • Great interviewing skills with the ability to identify good talent candidates
  • Impressive planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Strong understanding of national laws related to HR
Duties:

Human Resource & Payroll
  • Manage the recruitment process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, induction etc.
  • Implement Induction/Orientation Programme
  • Exit Management Process (Exit interviews)
  • Oversee and refine employee standards and procedures, using existing HR systems as well as improved or recommended processes
  • Maintaining employees files, contracts and supporting documents.
  • Assist in sourcing and facilitating training initiatives.
  • Maintain and implement employee benefits programs, incl compensation, benefit set up e.g., medical aid etc.
  • Conduct performance and salary reviews
  • Ensuring the Performance Management is applied. Ensure that the performance appraisal process is conducted timeously in line with group practices.
  • Ensure that all team members always have a good understanding of their functions (job descriptions) and role expectations
  • Develop training materials and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities
  • Ensure that a process is in place to discuss role expectations when a team member is promoted or changes a position.
  • Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently
  • Ensure HR Policies in line with Legislation
  • Partner with management to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives
  • Maintain HR systems and processes
  • Submitting EE reports WSP and ATR
  • EE and diversity xe2x80x93 perform associated administration functions and record keeping requirements.
  • IOD /EEA / ETI / EMP501- reports / system / processes
  • Wellness, Welfare and Health related plans.
  • Monthly HR reporting to EXCO
  • Ad Hoc tasks
Industrial Relations
  • Manage internal disciplinary processes and procedures including CCMA hearing / Grievance / Warning.
  • Employee Relations - industrial relations all industrial relations cases, investigate and compile incident reports, act as initiator and represent the company
  • Ensure all discipline is done according to disciplinary code and procedure
  • Liaise with external IR consultant regarding high profile cases.
  • Investigate employee issues and conflicts and brings them to resolution.
  • Organization Culture - Focus on an environment in which employees are motivated and stimulated to allow individuals and the business to thrive through performance driven culture
Health and Safety
  • Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure safety representatives, First aiders and fire fighters are trained and appointed
  • Ensure forklift operator certificates are valid.
  • Ensure we are complaint to all safety standards on site.
  • Conduct regular HSE meetings
  • Implement and update health and safety policies and procedures
  • Order and issue annual PPE. Ensure stock is available for non-annual PPE for staff working with chemicals.
