A leading consumer company is seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Manager to join the team and take charge of their human resources operations. Job Purpose:
As an HR Manager, you will be responsible for implementing HR strategies that support the overall business objectives while fostering a positive work environment that values diversity and inclusion. You will work closely with department heads to understand their needs and drive initiatives that promote employee development, performance management, and organizational effectiveness. You will also manage recruitment processes, employee relations, and compliance with labour laws, ensuring that our policies are up to date and well communicated.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Draw up offers and contracts for new employees and ensure a current signed copy is filed.
  • Maintain personnel files
  • Once offer has been accepted, plan and manage the arrival and onboarding activities for new employees to ensure a positive experience.
  • Conduct the end of month follow up meetings with new employees and facilitate the completion of the new employee survey.
  • Ensure that termination checklists are followed for all terminations. Conduct exit interviews and collate trends for reporting purposes.
  • Contribute to and develop initiatives to foster a positive work environment whilst building a high performance culture
  • Resolve IR issues effectively within reasonable timeframes.
  • Provide advice, support and administration to managers and other stakeholders within set guidelines and deadlines provided by the CCMA and labour legislation.
  • Set up and attend disciplinary enquiries.
  • Keep accurate records of all IR cases and issue disciplinary outcomes to employees and capture on the HR system.
  • Perform annual Training Needs Analysis for all staff
  • Compile the annual Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report and submit to SETA within deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain a Skills Matrix.
  • Source accredited training providers according to defined quality standards.
  • Manage the booking and record keeping of training.
  • Coordinate with facilitators prior to the training course and monitor the quality assurance of training delivery.
  • Coordinate and facilitate HR and policy related training and perform after training administration and evaluation.
  • Identify the need for learnerships, apprenticeships and bursaries and assess workplace readiness and learner suitability for these.
  • Monitor progress of learners.
  • Provide monthly training reports according to agreed format and deadline.
  • Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of the Performance Management and Probation systems.
  • Ensure bi-annual reviews are completed by all managers and quality of reviews checked.
  • Provide training to managers and other stakeholders on the implementation of performance management.
  • Remuneration, benefits and payroll
  • Ensure remuneration and benefits are well administered at all levels and according to the relevant policies, legal requirements and scheme rules.
  • Review of monthly Payroll reports, prior to submission to Finance Department for final review and salary payments.
  • Compile monthly management reports as required.
  • Ensure the annual preparation, completion, and submission of EE Reports.
  • Forecast annual budget and capex expenses in line with guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or similar
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in generalist HR with exposure to BBBEE, EE, skills development, recruitment, working with labour brokers, industrial relations processes, preferably in a FMCG or manufacturing environment.
