Position Overview:

Well-established organisation looking for an HR Manager to join our dynamic team. The role is physically located within KZN. This role reports directly to the Head of HR Support.

Core Function:

To manage and co-ordinate all requirements in relation to human resource and employee relations management and to ensure that tasks and reports are completed timeously.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree in HRM/ LLB
  • 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in distribution, FMCG manufacturing, road freight, logistics and supply chain field
  • People manager experience
  • Fluent in Zulu
  • Excellent communication skills
  • MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and work long hours
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Confidentiality, tact, and discretion when dealing with employees
  • Must be a team player
  • Valid driverxe2x80x99s license and own a reliable vehicle
Responsibilities:
  • Act as the liaison between the senior management and the employees with regards to any HR and ER related matters
  • Provide employee relations guidance and provide advice to employees about company and governmental rules, regulations, and procedures, and need for compliance
  • Facilitate disciplinary actions to be taken against employees, this will include the drafting of charges, and coordinating disciplinary hearings
  • To be the first point of contact to the business for all ER process and policy queries and/or issues
  • To provide an end-to-end case management service with regards to all ER processes, including but not limited to discipline management, poor performance management, grievance management and sick leave management
  • Prepare & represent the employer at CCMA in conciliations, in limine and arbitrations
  • Prepare relevant pleadings including but not limited to: objections, preliminary points, heads and closing arguments, oppositions to condonations, recissions etc.
  • Prepare in house employee relations training material and conduct training in accordance with business unit need
  • Write monthly news letters on a variety of HR and ER related topics
  • Facilitate & conduct grievances, investigations, suspensions, disciplinary enquiries, appeals, incapacities and retrenchments
  • Ensure adherence to both substantive and procedural fairness in the above-mentioned areas as well as compliance with internal HR and ER standard operating procedures
  • Compile and report on employee relations activity on a monthly basis
  • Adhoc tasks allocated by senior management
  • Identify risk areas & advise on mechanisms to mitigate risk
  • Support Project tasks, plan and manage all projects within timelines, actively support and lead projects
  • Oversees and facilitates a streamlined recruitment and selection procedure within the respective division
  • In-depth knowledge of LRA, BCEA, BBBEE, EE, CCMA Rules, and relevant Sectoral Determinations
  • Strong IR experience which must include experience in a unionized environment, managing organizational rights, wage negotiations and implementation of collective and recognition agreements
  • Provide leadership to the operations through recruiting and retaining competent staff and encouraging high performance to ensure a productive and engaged team
  • Manage all performance management aspects of direct reports and facilitate the same within the rest of the departments
  • Actively support change management
  • Excellent analytical abilities
