Min 10 years HR managerial experience having serviced a staff compliment larger than 1000 employees.
Knowledge of the BCEA, EEA, LRA, SDA and other related Acts.
Experience in complex union negotiation.
Multi-union experience.
Strong knowledge of CCMA matters
Able to lead and manage a HR team
Must be willing to travel locally
The Job: Reporting to the Managing Director:
HR Planning:
Develop, implement, and manage the functional and strategic plan for labour deployment as per production requirements.
Develop and implement plans that drive the organisation towards profitable growth and sustainable operation of the organisation through minimising impact of labour costs.
Manage the allocated labour budget with Operations/Production Managers.
Forecast annual labour expenses in line with budget.
Manage costs against approved budget.
Put in place cost control mechanisms and report any major deviations on cost.
Identify efficiencies and implement cost saving initiatives.
Contribute to the Executive team by evaluating business results and making appropriate contributions.
Ensure appropriate systems, processes and controls are in place to implement functional plans.
Effectively performance manage all staff, rewarding excellent performance and addressing poor performance.
Employee Relations:
Formulate the long-term IR strategy.
Provide an advisory support service to management with regards to IR matters and staff discipline.
Represent the company at CCMA.
Manage Union relations.
Talent Development:
Develop a skills development plan.
Facilitate Training and Development initiatives as identified by management, aligned to National guidelines.
Conduct regular skills audits, training needs analysis and align to annual reporting to the FP&M seta in the format of the WSP and ATR.
Lead and manage staff to achieve objectives and targets and ensure that staff are trained, equipped, and motivated through effective staff management processes.
Co-ordinate effective staff management and communication in the department to ensure an engaged, motivated, and productive workforce.
Foster well-trained staff through the identification and implementation of training needs to ensure ongoing training and development.

Proactively manage suppliers and supplier performance.
Manage the social and ethics committee.
