Wheco is looking for an experienced and solutions-oriented
HR Generalist
to support our Human Resources function and contribute to the ongoing success of our operations.
In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to line management, supporting recruitment, employee relations, compliance, training, and performance management. You will play a key role in ensuring that HR practices support the organisation's goals and foster a positive, compliant, and engaging workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
: Manage employee queries, advise on disciplinary procedures, and support conflict resolution
Recruitment & Onboarding
: Coordinate hiring processes, interviews, and facilitate seamless onboarding experiences
Performance Management
: Guide managers in appraisals, goal setting, and development plans
HR Compliance
: Monitor and apply labour law changes, update policies, and conduct internal HR audits
Training & Development
: Identify training needs and support implementation of development programmes
Policy Development
: Create, review, and advise on HR policies to ensure fair, consistent application
Requirements
Education
:
Minimum*: National Senior Certificate (Matric) Relevant Tertiary qualification in
Human Resources/ Industrial Psychology
Experience
:
Minimum of
2-3 years
in a generalist HR role
Valid Driver's License (essential)
Skills & Attributes
Sound understanding of HR administration, systems, and South African labour law
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage sensitive matters with discretion
Experience with performance management frameworks and onboarding practices
Exposure to HRIS systems and digital recruitment tools is advantageous
Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a problem-solving mindset
