Job Summary ? HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER VACANCY ALERT ? Luxury Safari Lodge | Greater Kruger Region ? Location: Greater Hoedspruit area, Limpopo ? Salary: R12,000 per month (negotiable) ? Accommodation: Live-in Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and detail-driven Housekeeping Manager to join a luxury lodge operation in the Greater Hoedspruit region. This on-site management role requires a hands-on professional with strong leadership capability, impeccable standards, and experience managing housekeeping in a lodge or remote safari environment. Key Responsibilities Operational Oversight o Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, spa areas, laundry and BOH spaces meet strict cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards o Oversee cleaning schedules, checklists, daily allocations and task delegation o Conduct regular spot checks and room inspections to maintain lodge standards o Maintain organised, compliant housekeeping stores Staff Supervision & Development o Assist with staff recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training o Motivate, guide, and support the housekeeping team and supervisor o Contribute to performance evaluations and staff rostering o Maintain a professional, disciplined and service-driven team environment Inventory; Linen & Stock Control o Manage linen cycles, laundry quality and par stock levels o Conduct monthly stock takes for linen, amenities, and chemicals o Monitor usage and ensure cost control within departmental budget o Support supplier communication and procurement for linen/equipment Hygiene; Safety & Sustainability o Ensure compliance with all hygiene, PPE, MSDS and chemical-handling protocols o Complete housekeeping audits, hygiene reports and corrective action plans o Foster eco-friendly cleaning practices and waste-reduction initiatives Maintenance Coordination o Identify and report maintenance issues promptly o Track progress of repairs and escalate outstanding issues o Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance needs Guest Interaction & Support o Oversee VIP turndowns, honeymoon setups and special room requests o Assist with linen and housekeeping needs for lodge events and functions ? Minimum Requirements o Matric o Minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisory housekeeping role o Lodge or remote environment experience highly advantageous o Strong organisational and leadership ability o Excellent attention to detail and guest-service mindset o Sound knowledge of hygiene practices, laundry operations and chemical use o Computer literate (Outlook, Word, stock/inventory systems) o Fluent in English; additional local languages beneficial o Valid driver's licence o Ability to live on-site full time ?
