We are seeking an exceptional House Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a large, ultra-luxury private residence in Hermanus. This role requires someone with meticulous attention to detail who can maintain the highest standards of presentation and service while providing companionship and support to an elderly person.
Duties
Oversee and maintain all housekeeping operations to pristine, 5-star standards including deep cleaning, organization, and presentation
Manage linen services, ensuring rotation, laundering, and impeccable presentation
Coordinate and supervise gardening and grounds maintenance
Ensure pool areas are maintained to immaculate standards
Manage household staff and contractors, ensuring work is completed to specification
Prepare simple breakfasts and light meals as required
Provide companionship and conversation to an elderly person
Undertake driving duties as needed for appointments, errands, and outings
Manage pet care including walking, feeding, grooming coordination, and general wellbeing (must be comfortable with dogs)
Coordinate property turnarounds between guest stays, ensuring 5-star service standards
Anticipate household needs and proactively address maintenance issues
Manage household inventories and coordinate deliveries
Requirements
Proven experience managing a large, high-end private residence
Exceptional eye for detail with uncompromising standards
Strong supervisory and staff management skills
Easy-going, friendly personality with a positive attitude
Clean driving license (use of vehicle provided)
Genuine affinity for animals, particularly dogs
High degree of flexibility and adaptability
Excellent interpersonal skills with warm, professional demeanor
Physically fit and capable of hands-on work
Discretion and respect for privacy
Experience providing 5-star hospitality service
Basic cooking skills (breakfasts and light meals) preferred but not essential
Previous property turnover/guest preparation experience preferred
