A well-established, community-focused food retailer on the East Rand is seeking an experienced
Hot Foods / Grab-and-Go Manager
to lead and grow a specialised fresh food offering.
This role suits a hands-on food professional who understands both
product quality and commercial discipline
, and who enjoys building teams and developing scalable food concepts.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow a
specialised grab-and-go range
including items such as poke bowls, sandwiches, wraps, and shawarma-style offerings
Prepare and maintain
accurate costings
, GP tracking, recipes, and food margins
Compile and review
management and performance reports
Conduct
quality control checks
to ensure consistency, freshness, and food safety standards
Oversee
merchandising and presentation
of hot and ready-to-eat foods
Lead, manage, and develop staff -- firm, fair, and professional people management is essential
Work collaboratively with store management to
expand the offering and grow the team over time
Requirements
Proven experience managing
hot foods, deli, or grab-and-go operations
Strong understanding of
food costings, GP control, and recipe management
Experience with
staff supervision and performance management
High standards for
quality, hygiene, and presentation
Team-oriented mindset with the ambition to
grow with the business
Based on or able to commute reliably to the
East Rand
