Job Summary

Together with our client, a leading claims administrator in Pietermaritzburg, we are recruiting for a Hospital Administrative Clerk to assist with Private and medical aid claims.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Private Hospital Accounts:

  • Credit Control / Debtors Management.
  • Control and maintain up-to-date age analysis and ensure accurate reporting of open items.
  • Ensure account collection/payment is within allocated timelines.
  • Pre-assessing of billing sheets.
  • Accurate billing.
  • Manage account complaints and queries.
  • Continued follow-up and communication with clients and/ or medical aid schemes.
  • Relationship building and client satisfaction.
  • Keeping up with the latest clinical data supplied by the company and interpreting, presenting, and discussing this data with health professionals and stakeholders.
  • Client service, training, on-site client assistance and account collection.
  • Preplanning of on-site client visits based on analysis of the book and their challenges.
  • Regular visits to all allocated clients as directed by line management.
  • Reporting and analysing production data to improve results.
  • Efficient and effective territory management by timorously adhering to planning and reporting formats.
  • Filling and archiving.
  • Ensure all month-end procedures are followed as per the SOP's.
  • Assist with the other tasks of the department.
  • As a team member add value and contribute to the company.
  • Be willing to share knowledge, assist with training and comply with set company policies.
  • Assist in other areas of the department when required.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks in line with the objectives of the Company as and when required by the Company.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Tertiary qualification will be beneficial.
  • Experience at a medical bureau will be an advantage.
  • Hospital Credit control experience will be an advantage.
  • Private Hospital Medical Aid Claims related experience essential
  • Valid driver's licence and own vehicle
Skills and Competencies:
  • Computer literate in MS Office (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; and Outlook)
  • Articulate with strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Pro-Clin Hospital Information Management System.
  • Ability to adapt and learn new skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Cope well under pressure.
Remuneration

R 10 000.00 CTC per month depending on experience
