The Senior Home-Based High School Academic Coach is a highly experienced education professional responsible for providing comprehensive academic, organizational, and developmental support to a High School learner within a private household environment. The role goes beyond tutoring and focuses on structured academic coaching, learner accountability, executive functioning development, motivation, and holistic schedule management.
Overview of the position
The Academic Coach position is established to provide comprehensive, personalized academic support to children aged 13-15 years. The role focuses on enhancing academic performance through the development of effective study skills, time management, organisation, motivation, and independent learning. The Academic Coach will support the children across all academic areas rather than tutoring a specific subject, including homework supervision, exam preparation, routine planning, and academic progress monitoring. In addition, the role involves coordinating and balancing academic and extracurricular activities, including sporting commitments, and liaising with parents, educators, and subject-specific tutors to ensure alignment and holistic development. The position require a highly experienced professional with a proven background in supporting high school learners.

Core responsibilities
Academic Coaching & Study Skills Development:
Design and implement a personalized study skills programme
Teach study methods, revision strategies, and exam preparation
Planning, Organisation, and Time Management:
Manage weekly, monthly, and term-based academic plans
Oversee homework completion and deadlines
Motivation and Learner Development:
Provide motivation coaching and accountability
Build confidence, resilience, and discipline
School, Sports and Scheduling:
Coordinate school timetables, assessments, and sports schedules
Behavioral and Emotional Support:
Provide behavioral guidance and emotional support
Communication and Reporting:
Communicate progress with parents and schools

Minimum Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Education or related field
Experience:
5-10 years working with High School learners
