Description:
A Higher Education Consultant provides guidance, expertise, and tailored solutions to prospective students and organisations. The Higher Education Consultant is responsible for fostering relationships, identifying client needs, and presenting solutions to enhance educational offerings. By collaborating with consultants and institutions, they ensure that the services provided align with market demands and client expectations, ultimately driving growth and fostering long-term partnerships.
Working conditions:

  • Mostly office based on a campus
  • Must be able to travel locally
  • Valid driver's license and own transport is essential
  • Able to work some weekends and some evenings
Minimum Requirements
Minimum qualification:
Relevant undergraduate degree such as commerce, education, social sciences or marketing
Experience:
  • At least two years' sales experience with a proven track record
  • Higher education experience will be advantageous
  • 2-year teaching exposure will be advantageous
  • At least 2 years account management/ customer relationship experience
Other requirements:
  • Must be able to travel locally.
  • Valid driver's license and own transport is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
Accountabilities:
As an HEC, you will be accountable for:
Qualifying transfer calls on Short Course leads
  • Volumes: number of transfer calls made to short course leads.
  • Quality: assessment of call effectiveness, including professionalism and client satisfaction.
  • Duration: average duration of calls measured to ensure adequate time is spent addressing client needs.
  • Outcome: percentage of calls that result in conversion to the next phase.
Conversion Metrics
  • Conversion Rate: Percentage of leads that proceed to the application phase.
  • Number of Applications: Total applications generated from initial consultations or outreach.
  • Application to Enrolment Conversion: Percentage of applications that result in confirmed enrolments. This includes nurturing and interventions to guide students through the decision-making process.
Enrolment and Revenue
  • Enrolment headcount: total number of students enrolled.
  • Revenue: revenue generated from enrolments.
Sales Activities
  • Core focus on short courses.
  • Cross-mode/campus/qualification sale volumes: number of cross-mode sales, cross-campus enrolments, and qualifications sold.
  • Performing sales activities: includes the number of calls, interviews conducted, events attended, and applications facilitated.
Product Knowledge and Systems Utilisation
  • Level of product knowledge: measure of consultant expertise in educational offerings, assessed through testing or observations.
  • Accuracy: precision in providing information and completing documentation.
  • Completeness: ensuring all required data, forms, and processes are finalised.
  • Timeous contacting: prompt response to digital leads.
  • Systems utilisation: effective use of tools like LMS platforms, CRM, and data analytics software.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant undergraduate degree such as commerce, education, social sciences or marketing.
  • At least two years' sales experience with a proven track record.
  • Proven experience in higher education administration, consulting, or a related role.
  • In-depth understanding of higher education policies, accreditation standards, and global trends.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in technology tools such as CRM systems and Excel.
