Position overview




This position will consist of a full-time assignment, which would include sections

Integrated Math

2 and 3 and Grade 9 or 10 Integrated Science. Course allocation is dependent on scheduling needs and teacher qualifications. The High School operates on an 8-period rotating block schedule, and full-time teachers are assigned to teach 6 of 8 blocks.




Qualifications:




The Math and Science teacher should have:


Secondary license or certification for teaching Mathematics & Science, with a preference for a master's degree A minimum of an undergraduate degree in the area of expertise Previous teaching experience and strong knowledge in the area of specialization at the required levels of study Recent training and/or experience in Integrated Math and/or Science. A willingness to embrace an inclusive school environment while focusing on differentiated instruction and integrated learning Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and others Positive attitude and proven belief that all students can learn Ability to differentiate instruction for all learners Ability to establish and participate in collaborative structures Proven ability to develop successful academic programs Proven ability to moderate assignments at all levels to ensure collective understanding of achievement Proven ability to use learning data to explore and improve teaching and learning practices Ability to engage students in language learning activities using a variety of current social media forms

Preferred skills and experience:




An understanding of the NGSS standards, the Common Core Standards and concept-driven learning Experience in teaching research and writing in the content area Experience in teaching a concept-based curriculum Strong organizational and time management skills A team player with the ability to take initiative Curriculum and assessment development, particularly competency-based learning and planning using Understanding By Design Using hands-on engagements and assessments to help students make connections to the world around them Technology integration and the ability to teach appropriate use of AI Experience in creating differentiated and personalized learning experiences
