Job Description

Our client based in Midrand who delivers Smart Technologies across ICT, security/Fire, power/renewables, broadcast, and contact centres is currently looking for a Health and Safety Officer to assist with coordinating the health and safety systems in the organisation, as well as identify hazards, assess risks to health and safety, put appropriate safety controls in place and provide advice about accident prevention and occupational health to management and employees.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Ensure that all sites comply with the legal aspects pertaining to health and safety.
• Record, report and investigate all incidents.
• Ensures that Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) training records are kept.
• Present health and safety training sessions on sites and at head office.
• Update the SHE training matrix as required.
• Compile monthly and quarterly SHE reports for management.
• Compile Incident Investigation Reports.
• Conduct SHE legal compliance audit on all Site files.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Occupational health and safety (OHS) act and regulations.
• Knowledge of OHASA (9000, 14000,18001).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels within the organisation.
• Meticulous, detailed, well organised and able to work independently to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Good planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to cope with pressure and change.
• Demonstrates strong presentation and facilitation skills.
• Willingness to travel Nationally.
• +2 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in the OHS environment.
• Matric Certificate and tertiary qualification.
• Health and safety certification.

Renumeration:

• Salary based on experience and qualifications.
