Matric (NQF4),
SAMTRAC or NEBOSH qualification is essential
National Diploma in Safety Management will be advantageous
SACPCMP registration essential
HIRA (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment) training
Incident Investigation
Internal Auditing in accordance to OHS Regs
Sound knowledge of Safety legislation, Construction Regulations, OHS Act 85 of 1993
Knowledge and understanding of, ISO14001, ISO 45001
Other related Health & Safety training is advantageous
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships
Excellent time management
Deadline driven
Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
Good computer literacy: Excel skill, together with working knowledge of Syspro 8 and other Office packages
The ability to read, interpret and implement standard Safety procedures.
Must be a team player with good communication skills that supports the vision and mission statement of the Company.
Skills Requirements
Assist in Coordinating Health, Safety, Environment activities on sites.
Assist in preparing emergency evacuation plans & practice runs.
Assist with Investigations on incidents and accidents.
Maintain liaison with client and other regulatory authorities on site.
Assist in Inspecting, monitoring and evaluating HSE programs for value and effectiveness.
Assist Monitoring and presenting toolbox talks and the completion of STA`s
Conduct safety, health and environmental audits as per internal audit schedule
Conduct daily/weekly/monthly inspection of the Plants and ensure that good housekeeping is maintained.
Prepare and distribute SHE topics to employees and ensure that training registers are completed and filed
Assist in Planning, conducting and producing reports for non-conformance & incidents, training, meetings and audits for health and safety activities
Assist in conducting regular audits & inspections of the principle contractor and sub-contractors to ensure that all health and safety requirements are being met
Ensures that principle and sub-contractors safety files are kept up to date with relevant and accurate records
Attends health and safety meetings and effectively discusses and deals with relevant issues and do follow ups on SHE committee recommendations.
Able to effectively identify potential health and safety risks and implements the necessary preventative measures
Ability to ensure adherence to health and safety requirements for all workers, contractors and visitors on site
Responsible to update information on the "DO JO area on daily basis.
Update weekly/monthly SHE stats
Contractor & Visitor Safety Induction Training
Ensure that all mini risk assessment, safe work permits are received from all stakeholders and are kept on file.
