Recruiting for a Head Organizational Effectiveness position for a major financial services company. JOB DESCRIPTION To enable the company to establish an environment in which its employees can thrive and achieve the strategic objectives through driving the delivery of organisational culture, organisational design, change management, and people analytics strategies and frameworks. To take accountability for departmental performance through business planning, goals, metrics, partnerships KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Departmental strategy and business planning Deliver and gain approval for the organisational effectiveness strategy and business plan. Develop and embed metrics and clear performance measurements for organisational culture, design and other people practices (people analytics, change management, etc.). Support the Executive with input and subject matter expertise relating to organisational effectiveness during the development and delivery of the HR strategy for Retail Mass, and business as a whole. Work with the Executive to deliver and gain approval for organisational effectiveness initiatives and projects that will support the strategic and business objectives. Prepare, propose, manage and deliver the annual organisational effectiveness budget. Ensure continuous monitoring of performance against budget and be accountable for budget control for the department. Motivate recommendations/requests for further budget or deviation from budget where appropriate. Remain up to date with advancements and developments in organisational effectiveness technology, best practice and legal/statutory requirements to ensure alignment and optimise departmental performance. Support the organisationxe2x80x99s transformation objectives through appropriate culture and change management practices, initiatives and programmes. Proactively monitor, identify and manage risks relating to the adoption and governance of organisational effectiveness policies to minimise reputational damage and financial losses. Organisational effectiveness delivery 2.1 Culture development Drive the development and embedding of organisational culture practices and principles in line with the bigger organisational culture and values, and provide guidance to the management team regarding related practices and principles to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of the same. Establish awareness of the organisational values through the delivery of group culture activities, principles and events. Accountable for steering and managing the execution of annual culture events in line with the organisationxe2x80x99s calendar. Accountable for developing, aligning and managing the implementation of a culture measuring strategy for the business (engagement surveys, pulse surveys, focus groups, etc.), in line with the organisational culture measurement strategy. Provide feedback to executives and other business stakeholders. Work with HoDs to identify areas of development and propose corrective action. Agree and set up commercial partnerships with external vendors to deliver on culture initiatives. 2.2 Organisational design Ensure the departmental structures are supporting the achievement of strategic objectives through continuous consultation and monitoring. Drive the communication, understanding and adoption of organisational design principles and policies (job architecture principles, naming convention principles, organisational design principles, levels of work principles). Manage and oversee the support provided to HoDxe2x80x99s during structure changes, and ensure organisational design principles are adhered to in order to minimise risks (time, financial loss, unfair labour practices, etc.) 2.3 People Analytics Develop and manage a people analytics approach and methodology that will provide insight to people practices across the employee value chain, and ensure data-lead decision making on an Executive level. Drive and ensure quality of data (input) and analytical processes (output) through collaboration with owners of data sources and equipping the team with the right capabilities and tools to conduct deep analytics. Identify and manage the application and implementation of analytical tools and software. Ensure interpretation of findings are provided in a way that is understandable and easily absorbed by the business. 2.4 Change management Establish and drive a change management capability to provide support to business during any structure or organisational changes. Develop and lead the implementation of a change recipe to empower and equip Line Managers to lead and take ownership of changes in their areas. 3. Department and People Management Work with Executive to establish an operating model and structure which can deliver the departmentxe2x80x99s goals and objectives. Plan resources (people, technology, system and tools) in line with the budget and business plan. Responsible for the recruitment of direct reports and oversee and approve recruitment of indirect reports. Accountable for driving a performance culture in the department o Translate the strategy into KRAs for direct and indirect reports. o Manage work-flows, task allocation and capacity to ensure a continuous service delivery. o Conduct performance reviews with direct reports and ensure development plans are in place. o Oversee and ensure effective and fair performance management practices for indirect reports. Create and maintain a positive, innovative environment where organisational effectiveness best practice is adopted. 2. Stakeholder Relations Build and maintain effective relationships with management and external partners. Manage the relationships with and performance of external service providers. Be the custodian for organisational effectiveness and provide on-going support and subject matter expertise to the HR community and other business stakeholders. Reporting Report to relevant stakeholders on the organisational effectiveness strategy, plans, initiatives and targets. Monitor and track progress of organisational effectiveness initiatives and recommend actions where required. Drive the timely reporting on all organisational effectiveness surveys. Responsible for management reporting for the department, including the Exco report, submitted monthly. Provide people analytics insights for Executive HR Reporting (tenure, turnover, EE, etc.). QUALIFICATIONS Honours degree in related field of study (Organisational skills Development, Human Resources, etc.) Post graduate Diploma/Certificate /Degree KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Knowledge of all applicable legislation in South Africa. At least 8 -10 yearsxe2x80x99 experience and knowledge of organisational effectiveness pillars (culture, change, org design, and people analytics). The use and application of data and analytics to support an organisational effectiveness strategy. Experience in successfully leading, planning and managing organisational effectiveness initiatives and projects across a large organisation. Knowledge and experience of the HR life cycle/value chain. Experience in engaging with key business and external partners across all levels (especially at senior levels) Commercial, business and financial principles and practices. Governance and risk management principles. Stakeholder management experience. Project management experience.
