WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We are seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Head of Talent to champion our goal of becoming an employer of choice within our industry. This individual will play a crucial role in the development and growth of our human capital and shape our workforce for the future. This role involves overseeing talent acquisition, implementing comprehensive training programs, and managing performance to align our workforce with our corporate objectives.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Strategic HR Planning and Organizational Alignment: Develop and implement HR strategies that are in sync with the overall business objectives. This involves analyzing and restructuring organizational processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness from an HR viewpoint.

Talent Acquisition: Develop a robust talent acquisition strategy, ensuring a strong talent pipeline for current and future needs.

Talent Management: z Establish and maintain a robust talent management framework. This includes succession planning, talent identification, and development programs to prepare employees for higher responsibilities and align their growth with organizational needs.

Development and Training: Design and oversee comprehensive employee development programs. These should focus on skill enhancement, leadership development, and personal growth, ensuring that employees have the necessary tools and knowledge to contribute effectively to the organization.

Executive Performance Management: Develop a comprehensive performance management system that aligns with our business goals, with a special emphasis on executive performance. This will involve crafting clear performance metrics for leadership roles, conducting regular and thorough performance reviews, and establishing robust feedback mechanisms to drive accountability and continuous improvement at the highest levels of our organisation.

Workforce Planning and Optimization: Conduct workforce planning to ensure the organization has the right mix of skills and capabilities. This includes analyzing current workforce capabilities, predicting future needs, and planning accordingly to avoid talent gaps.

Utilization of Government Funding: Identify and leverage government funding opportunities related to job creation, training, and skills development.

Change Management Leadership: Lead and manage change initiatives within the organization, ensuring smooth transitions and minimum disruption. This involves communicating changes effectively, addressing employee concerns, and fostering a culture of adaptability and resilience.

Employee Engagement and Communication: Foster a culture of high engagement through effective internal communication strategies, employee recognition programs, and initiatives that promote a positive work environment.

Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives: Champion initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion within the workplace, ensuring that all employees feel valued and have equal opportunities for growth and development.

HR Analytics and Decision Making: Utilise HR analytics to make data-driven decisions. This includes analyzing trends in employee turnover, engagement, and performance to inform HR strategies and interventions.

Values and Culture Stewardship: Embed the company's core values into the organizational DNA, promoting a culture that reflects our ethos and guiding principles.

SOPs and Policy Oversight: Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and standard operating procedures in alignment with our values, ensuring legal compliance and operational excellence.

Compliance and Best Practices in HR: Ensure all organizational development initiatives are compliant with legal standards and reflect the best practices in HR management.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

  • Masters degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Significant experience in a senior HR role, especially in talent and organizational development.
  • Minimum 10 Years experience working within organizations of 500+ employees and a demonstrated and proven track record
  • Familiarity with South African labour laws, HR best practices, and government funding opportunities.
  • Proficient in HR software and performance management tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
