Our opportunity
The role holder is responsible for the end-to-end Executive Management of the Takaful Insurance Division, setting its strategy and delivering profitable growth against the background of the organisation-wide strategy and market conditions. Providing intelligent risk management solutions for the customer whilst adhering to best practice underwriting principles. Playing a key role in the Marketing and expansion of the Takaful Operations
Key Tasks & Accountabilities
Strategic Management
Develop a future vision for Bryte Takaful
Implement a collaborative corporate strategy
Develop a business unit strategy
Develop a Short Term and Long Term strategic and financial plan
Implement an overall team strategy
Review the Takaful Financial Model
Enhance and Manage the Strategic Partnership local and International
Develop a plan for Marketing and Institutional engagement countrywide
Review and oversee the Takaful Supervisory and Management Boards
Functional Management
Staying abreast of international and local industry trends as well as maintaining a high level of awareness with regards to customer purchasing behaviour.
Continuously evaluating and benchmarking existing products against market trends and customer needs.
Responsible for the overall sales budget and targets as agreed, along with a combined ratio indicative of a profitability rate that is in line with the strategy agreed upon annually.
Analysing claims loss ratio monthly / quarterly / annual to determine potential changes in strategic direction in order to ensure a profitable and growing business unit.
Providing intelligent underwriting solutions and managing the departmental expense budget.
Participation in Industry forums and networking within the relevant commercial sphere.
Identifying new business opportunities and developing sustainable product propositions to secure new accounts.
End-to-end relationship management of the various key partnerships, including some of the major banks.
Staying abreast of any relevant regulatory changes that may affect the Takaful and STI and Life Insurance Industry.
Participation in the organisational Senior Leadership Team and its associated forums.

Education and Experience
Appropriate FAIS qualifications for a Key Individual within Short Term Insurance
Minimum 10 years' experience within the Insurance industry, of which at least 5 years at management and leadership level
Proven track record to reach and maintain Sales and Underwriting targets within a challenging environment
