Duties:
As the Head of Marketing, your core responsibility will be to maximize the value and impact generated through the platform.
This involves expertly gathering, curating, and sharing countless inspiring stories of collective action and positive change.
Your ultimate aim is to significantly broaden the platform's brand recognition, establishing it as the premier destination for individuals to raise funds and witness the direct impact of their contributions.
You will achieve this by solidifying its image as the most trusted, successful, and transparent platform in South Africa.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for transforming campaign milestones into compelling content, ensuring that every donor receives clear, timely, and emotionally resonant proof of the change they helped create.
By doing so, you will play a critical role in converting one-time donors into loyal, recurring contributors to social good.

  • Platform Growth Expertise: Proven experience in growing two-sided marketplaces or digital platforms, especially where trust and peer-to-peer engagement are vital for exponential growth.
  • Product Collaboration: Experience working closely with product and engineering teams to translate user insights into features, and then driving the adoption and growth of those features. You should be comfortable owning KPIs related to messaging, user onboarding, and feature adoption.
  • Behavioural Economics & Community Building: A strong understanding of behavioural economics, habit-forming design principles, and community-led growth strategies that foster intrinsic motivation among both donors and campaigners.
  • Trust System Design: Comfortable designing and testing mechanisms that build trust, including campaign validation, donor recognition programs, and social proof features - extending beyond just messaging.
  • Global Insights, Local Impact: You will have studied or contributed to international crowdfunding/giving platforms and possess the ability to intelligently localize those insights for African markets.
  • B2B2C Marketing: Experience leading B2B2C marketing efforts, including integrating giving into broader ecosystems (e.g., banking, retail, healthcare) via APIs, widgets, or white-label technology.
  • Public relations: Comfortable acting as a public-facing evangelist for the brand, including speaking at events, engaging with media, and building the platform's profile as a leading giving infrastructure in Africa.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of overall marketing or related experience.
  • At least 5 years in a team leadership role.
  • Exco-level leadership experience.
Your Success Will Be Measured By (Quantitative KPIs)
  • Percentage of donors receiving meaningful campaign updates.
  • Growth in recurring donors and donor lifetime value.
  • Increases in platform traffic and successful fundraising campaigns.
  • Growth in brand recognition within South Africa and potentially globally
