Job Description

1. The Head of Marketing will own Lelive's end-to-end marketing strategy and plan in South Africa--helping build the brand, shaping perception, driving profitable growth across DTC and retail.


2. You will also be required to drive the brand, content & systems engine that must support global expansion into new markets.


3. You'll help define strategy, be part of the executive team, support the brand narrative and dive into execution, leading an in-house team and agency partners while using smart, creative marketing to deliver measurable results.

7+ years experience in relevant marketing / brand roles only.

Requirements




1. Set and execute the marketing strategy; build the brand; align team and partners




Define clear objectives, translate them into actionable roadmaps, and lead the in-house team and external agencies--clearing roadblocks and jumping in when needed to ship work.


2. Help drive overall brand, product, and marketing strategy as we scale globally




Provide insights that guide Lelive's evolving brand positioning, product roadmap, and growth priorities across international markets.

3. Plan and deliver against budget, driving measurable impact




Build annual and quarterly plans, allocate spend across channels, and adjust tactics to maximise revenue growth and ROAS while staying on budget.

4. Oversee the content engine




Run a scalable in-house/freelance pipeline that produces platform-ready assets for social, CRM, retail POS, and PR.

5. Drive retail growth through collaboration and omnichannel marketing




Work closely with the retail department and store teams to craft joint business plans, strengthen merchandising/training, and amplify campaigns across paid, owned, and earned channels.

6. Run word-of-mouth initiatives




Launch influencer, UGC, and community programmes that spark conversation and expand brand awareness.

7. Manage the ecommerce ecosystem




Own the website (Shopify), optimise CRO, manage promotions, and lead CRM/retention programmes.

Requirements




7+ years of marketing & brand experience in high-growth DTC, consumer goods, or related sectors. Passion for beauty, culture, and storytelling - genuinely cares about building brands that matter. Organic traction driver - expert at sparking word-of-mouth and conversation that gets people talking. Performance-marketing amplifier - uses paid channels strategically to scale and reinforce organic momentum. Omnichannel mindset - understands how to drive retail and e-commerce growth together, creating a seamless customer journey. Planner & budget owner - builds clear marketing calendars, understands ROAS and channel allocations, and turns spend into measurable results. Team leadership plus hands-on execution - builds, mentors, and mobilises a team while jumping into high-quality day-to-day work when needed. Sharp creative eye - judges and shapes compelling visuals, copy, and content. Strategic yet practical - balances long-term thinking with rapid execution. Highly organised & self-motivated - thrives in a fast-paced startup environment with minimal hand-holding.
