Introduction

Are you a dynamic legal professional with a passion for intellectual property? SNG is seeking a visionary Head of Legal to champion our legal strategy and safeguard the innovations that drive our growth. Role Overview

As Head of Legal, you will play a critical role in guiding our organisation through the complex landscape of intellectual property law. You will ensure that SNG's assets, inventions, and creative outputs are robustly secured, while fostering a culture of compliance, transparency, and strategic risk management.

Lead and oversee the full spectrum of legal operations with a focus on intellectual property protection, licensing, and enforcement.

Advise executive leadership on legal strategies, risks, and opportunities related to patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.

Develop and implement policies to ensure compliance with South African and international IP law.

Manage external counsel and support cross-functional teams on contracts, disputes, and regulatory matters.

Drive legal innovation, embracing technology to enhance efficiency and accessibility in all legal processes.

What We're Looking For

Admitted legal practitioner in South Africa with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience specialising in intellectual property law.

Proven track record in managing complex IP portfolios and leading legal teams in a dynamic business environment.

Expertise in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing IP-related agreements.

Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

High level of integrity, strategic thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Experience with legal technology and a desire to innovate in the legal function.

Pay: R1000,00 - R1500,00 per hour
