Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Head of IT and Digitalisation to lead their technology strategy, drive digital transformation, and ensure the smooth operation of all IT systems across the business.
This is a key leadership role for someone who can combine strategic vision with hands-on technical expertise -- guiding teams, streamlining digital processes, and aligning technology initiatives with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
ERP & Core Systems

• Oversee the rebuild company proprietary order management platform
• Lead Project@One: a group-wide ERP implementation across all global regions
• Modernize company systems for scalability, performance, and cost efficiency
• Ensure data integrity, integration, and real-time visibility across all functions

Business Intelligence & Data

• Establish group-wide data structures, reporting standards, and controls
• Advance BI maturity to enable faster, smarter decision-making
• Deploy Power BI, Qlik, or equivalent platforms across regions and functions
• Drive transparency and accountability through performance data

Automation & Digital Execution

• Identify and eliminate manual processes across admin, operations, and finance
• Implement workflow automation and system integrations to improve turnaround times
• Partner with operations and service leaders to deliver measurable cost and service gains
• Ensure all solutions are scalable, secure, and embedded in business processes

AI Strategy

• Lead education and upskilling around AI adoption across the group
• Roll out workplace AI tools to enhance productivity and decision-making
• Identify practical, high-impact AI use cases across sales, manufacturing, and admin
• Pilot and scale AI projects with clear business outcomes and ownership

Manufacturing Systems & Lean Support

• Embed control, visibility, and workflow discipline to support Lean execution
• Digitize standard work and continuous improvement practices
• Provide real-time plant-level data to reduce variation and waste
• Support quality and operations teams with actionable digital tools

Infrastructure, Security & Governance

• Ensure best-in-class IT infrastructure and global cybersecurity
• Strengthen system reliability, disaster recovery, and data protection
• Establish robust systems architecture and governance across all regions

Team Leadership & Influence

• Build and lead a high-performing IT and development team in Cape Town
• Influence and align cross-functional teams globally, often without direct authority
• Establish a collaborative, delivery-focused culture with clear ownership
• Drive a product mindset in software development and automation

Minimum Requirements

• 10+ years in senior IT leadership roles within manufacturing
• Proven ERP/MRP delivery in complex, multi-entity environments
• BI platform expertise (Power BI, Qlik, or equivalent)
• Demonstrated success with automation in operations or admin functions
• Experience leading internal software development teams
• Track record in multinational groups, including Asian operations
• Strong understanding of systems architecture, security, and data governance
