About the Opportunity:
This organisation is a market leader in innovative risk and insurance structures, offering tailor-made solutions to large corporates and financial institutions. You'll lead the Data Management and Analytics Centre of Excellence, partnering with senior leadership to design and execute enterprise-wide data and analytics strategies that are compliant, scalable, and transformative.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the enterprise data and analytics strategy, aligning it with business priorities to deliver measurable impact.
• Champion data governance and quality, ensuring adherence to regulatory and ethical standards.
• Define and implement data management frameworks, including architecture, lineage, metadata, and master data management.
• Partner with IT to build and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure for scalable analytics execution.
• Oversee analytics use cases across functions such as Finance, Risk, HR, Compliance, and Actuarial.
• Drive a data-driven culture, embedding consistent practices across all business units.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and accountability.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• Minimum 8 years' experience in data, analytics, or technology roles within banking, telecommunications, or insurance.
• At least 3 years in a leadership capacity with proven success in enterprise data initiatives.
• Strong expertise in Azure Synapse, SQL, and data integration, metadata, and master data management platforms.
• Deep understanding of data governance and compliance within South African regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated success translating business strategy into actionable data-driven solutions.
