Job Summary Head of Engineering and Maintenance - Franschhoek Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head of Engineering and Maintenance to lead the engineering and maintenance operations at a prestigious luxury wine estate in Franschhoek. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented professional to oversee all estate systems, equipment, and facilities, ensuring operational efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. Requirements: Proven experience in a senior engineering or maintenance role within a luxury hospitality or estate environment Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Technical knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC) Ability to work independently, manage a team, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously Proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport Responsibilities: Oversee all engineering and maintenance operations across the estate Lead, manage, and mentor the engineering and maintenance team Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans and schedules Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations Monitor and maintain mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems Manage maintenance budgets, procurement of materials, and vendor relationships Coordinate with other departments to ensure minimal disruption to estate operations Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure property and equipment are maintained to the highest standard Prepare reports on maintenance activities, repairs, and operational performance Package: Salary: R55,000 - R75,000 per month (negotiable depending on experience) 50% Medical Aid contribution 3% Provident Fund contribution Annual increases and performance-related bonuses Live-out position To apply: Please send your updated CV, reference letters, qualifications, and a recent head & shoulders photo today Please note: Due to the high volume of applications, only candidates who meet the listed requirements will be contacted.
