Head of Department: Student and Intern Care
. This is a
teaching position
with leadership responsibilities, requiring a dynamic individual to oversee student well-being, digital citizenship and the mentoring of interns. The successful candidate will also contribute to the school's
sport and extramural programme
and work closely with the HOD of Inclusion and Belonging to ensure a holistic, supportive environment for all learners.
This multifaceted leadership role is central to ensuring the holistic well-being of our learners, guiding them in responsible digital engagement and mentoring our interns as they grow in the teaching profession.

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications and Relevant Experience
A recognised teaching qualification.
At least 7 years' teaching experience
, preferably at the preparatory level.
Demonstrated experience in learner support and pastoral care.
Strong understanding of digital citizenship and online safety in a school context.
Experience in mentoring or supervising interns or student teachers.
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Attributes
Postgraduate training or courses in counselling, inclusive education or educational technology.
Experience in boys' education and/or a preparatory school context.
A collaborative and empathetic approach to working with learners, staff and families.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Student Care
Provide pastoral support and guidance to learners.
Promote emotional, social and academic well-being in collaboration with staff and parents.
Implement strategies and programmes to build resilience, belonging and positive behaviour.
Digital Citizenship
Develop and deliver age-appropriate programmes on safe, responsible and ethical digital use.
Support staff and learners in integrating digital literacy into the curriculum.
Stay updated on online safety issues and best practices.
Internship Programme
Coordinate the placement, induction and mentorship of school interns.
Provide guidance and support to interns in their professional development.
