Minimum Requirements:
o Registration as a specialist in one of the following disciplines: ENT, Neurology, Neurosurgery and Ophthalmology.
o Proven research experience (a PhD is highly advantageous).
o Minimum of 10 years' experience in the relevant clinical field and substantial exposure to university-level administration at a senior level.
o Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, with a track record of managing academic teams effectively.
o Strong academic and professional profile with the ability to inspire respect within the department.
o Eligibility for appointment at the level of Associate Professor or Adjunct Professor at the University.
o The position is offered as a fixed-term appointment of 5 years, renewable based on performance.
Key Responsibilities:
o Provide strategic and academic leadership for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research within the department.
o Drive students' success by enhancing throughput rates and research output.
o Ensure high standards of teaching quality and curriculum delivery (for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs).
o Foster a culture of staff development, supporting the mission and vision of the School of Clinical Medicine and the Department of Neurosciences.
o Promote interdepartmental collaboration across the academic and clinical teaching platform.
o Oversee staff performance management and assessments.
o Continuously work towards improving the quality and output of departmental activities.
o Align and implement the strategic objectives of the University, School, and associated clinical training platforms (Hospitals).
