They are dedicated to building lasting relationships with their clients, offering exceptional service and expertise that is Rapid, Reliable, and ResponsiveKey Responsibilities:Lead the entire credit assessment function within the organization, overseeing the execution of all credit activities.Contribute to the development of market-driven financial products to meet customer demands.Manage credit risk by evaluating new credit facility applications and reviewing existing client credit facilities.Coordinate and guide the activities of the credit department staff.Provide regular reporting to the Executive team on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.Align the credit strategy with business objectives to achieve sustainable growth.Review and ensure compliance with approved credit granting policies and mandates.Assess and approve extensions, repayments, and security alterations in accordance with mandate structures.Monitor adherence to the terms and conditions of approved credit facilities.Maintain bad debts within targeted thresholds.Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements for lending activities.Oversee the determination of loan impairments and conduct post-mortems on impaired transactions monthly.Monitor and evaluate the performance of credit models, ensuring alignment with risk appetite limits.Stay informed about new developments in secured and unsecured lending and credit sectors.Identify opportunities for innovative product development within the market.Leadership Competencies:Display a profound understanding of South Africa's social, political, and economic landscape.Demonstrate creative and innovative thinking, particularly in supporting services.Exhibit strong people management skills with a consultative and inclusive approach.Develop, articulate, and implement strategic goals.Represent the company effectively to stakeholders.Grasp the technological, social, political, and economic challenges facing contemporary businesses.Comprehend the challenges and opportunities in financing office automation, ICT hardware and software, solar/green energy, and commercial asset finance products.Identify market opportunities for new products.Job Requirements:Education & Experience:Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent qualification.Minimum of 10 years of end-to-end Credit Management experience within asset finance banking (experience in operating rental space is a plus).At least 5 years of managerial experience in a strategic role.Comprehensive knowledge of credit products (Operating Rentals, Lease Agreements, Instalment Sale Agreements).Profound understanding of relevant legislation (NCA, CPA).Extensive experience in credit analytics setup and implementation.Strong familiarity with Credit and Risk Policies & Procedures.Technical and Behavioral Competencies:Results-driven with a flair for electronic systems.Proficiency in advanced MS Excel and IT.Proactive and assertive with a strong appetite for opportunity and innovation.Displays emotional stability and a positive disposition.Effective team leadership and motivation skills.Demonstrates good business acumen and a customer-focused mindset.Agility, flexibility, and perseverance in problem-solving.Strong time management skills with punctuality and deadline orientation.Systematic approach to tasks and responsibilities.If you are a strategic thinker with a proven track record in credit management, an innovator with exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for driving financial services forward, we encourage you to apply for this role.
