A boutique media organisation that specialises in niche Zulu publications, including a financial print and online publication and a digital education and careers title.
Purpose of the Role:
The Head of Sales will lead all advertising and commercial revenue streams across both print and digital platforms. This role is responsible for generating new business, nurturing client relationships, stakeholder relations, developing strategic sales plans and driving revenue through innovative advertising and partnership solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets across print and digital platforms.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients including corporates, SMMEs, financial institutions and government departments.
Identify new advertising and sponsorship opportunities including special reports, digital series, and branded content partnerships.
Create and present compelling sales proposals, media kits, and campaign packages tailored to client objectives.
Collaborate closely with the editorial, design and digital teams to ensure effective campaign delivery and client satisfaction.
Stay informed on media trends, digital marketing innovations and the competitive landscape to keep offerings relevant.
Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance reviews for management.
Attend industry events and networking opportunities to promote brands and expand its advertiser base.
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Communications, Media, or Business.
At least 5-10 years of experience in advertising/media sales, preferably with exposure to both print and digital platforms.
Demonstrated success in meeting sales targets and closing deals with a diverse range of clients.
Experience working in or with the business, financial, or B2B media sectors is highly advantageous.
Knowledge of digital advertising formats (e.g. CPM, CPC, sponsored content) and web metrics.
Be fluent in Zulu and English.

Strong understanding of integrated media campaigns (print, online, social)
CRM proficiency and strong organisational/reporting ability
Strategic thinking with a commercial, client-first mindset
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and under pressure
