Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a Head Guide for our esteemed client, a prestigious luxury safari lodge located in the captivating Kruger National Park. This role offers the opportunity to lead a team of dedicated guides in providing exceptional guest experiences Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and train guides, ensuring continual skill enhancement.
  • Maintain up-to-date licenses and credentials for all guides, including NDT, first aid, and trails hours.
  • Oversee the maintenance of firearms, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and concession rules among guides.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the guiding department to ensure operational excellence.
  • Ensure the safety and satisfaction of guests through meticulous management and supervision.
  • Manage and discipline guiding staff as necessary.
  • Control stock inventory, including equipment, radios, vehicles, rifles, and first aid supplies.
  • Possess technical knowledge of vehicles, operations, and equipment, with a focus on mechanical proficiency.
  • Coordinate vehicle services and manage vehicle tracking systems.
  • Allocate guides to daily game drives and bush walks.
  • Create staff rosters and enforce uniform standards.
  • Assist with newsletters, social media, and photography initiatives.
  • Support other lodge departments and perform duty manager shifts when required.
  • Participate in wildlife projects, surveys, and monitoring efforts.
  • Preserve and promote the local fauna and flora.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Head Guide at a luxury five-star property.
  • Five years or more experience in the luxury hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in Lead Trails and extensive knowledge of the Kruger National Park is advantageous.
  • Possession of ARH & Rifle proficiency/SAPS Competency Certificate.
  • Valid Driverxe2x80x99s license, PDP, and First Aid Level 2 with Wilderness component.
  • CATHSSETA/NDT Register certification.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Guest-centric approach with a commitment to delivering personalized experiences.
  • Stable employment history and verifiable references.
