Cedar Wood Recruitment is now recruiting for our client, a 5 * Game Lodge based in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve for a Head Guide Salary figure: R 20 000 – 22 000 BASED ON EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Provident fund: 50/50% Medical aid: 50/50% but up to R 1500 on employer contribution Accommodation: single room with private bathroom and 3 meals a day. Requirements

  • FGASA Level 1 or 2
  • Full Trails Guide
  • ARH and Rifle proficiency
  • First Aid level 1
  • SAPS Competency Certificate
  • Driver’s License and Pr-DP
  • Previous experience as Assistant head guide or Head guide
  • Knowledge of planning, budgets and departmental budgeting
  • Time management and self discipline
  • Monitor, manage and assume responsibility of the field department
  • Evaluate, mentor and train staff
  • Provide leadership, guidance and counselling to team members
  • Follow all procedures for maintaining the overall operation of the Guides and Safari department, including individual, family & kids’ safari experiences, Safety, excellent Guest and Staff relations, Hosting of Guests and all equipment, vehicles and assets
  • Perform all Field Guide functions according to the standards of FGASA, including Guest introductory and Safety orientations,
  • Guided game drives and interpretive bush walks, tracking, identification of spoor, delivering informative lectures on relevant ecological topics, drink Stops and other bush events.
