Head Greenkeeper - Ba-Phalaborwa Golf Club

Ba-Phalaborwa Golf Club is looking for a dedicated and experienced

Head Greenkeeper

to take full responsibility for the maintenance, presentation, and overall management of the golf course.

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of turf care, irrigation, machinery, and staff management, ensuring the course is maintained to a high standard throughout the year while complying with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and roughs to optimal playing standards Plan and implement maintenance schedules and turf management programmes Lead, train, and supervise the greenkeeping team Monitor turf health, pests, diseases, and environmental conditions Oversee irrigation, drainage systems, and water conservation practices Manage machinery, equipment maintenance, and departmental resources Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations Work closely with Club Management to support tournaments and club events

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 (Matric) Previous experience in golf course maintenance or groundskeeping Basic knowledge of turf management, irrigation systems, and machinery operation Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Added Advantage:

Qualification in turf management, horticulture, or a related field
