At Bidvest Bank we know that to achieve our strategic objectives and deliver on our vision to change the way banking is done, we need new ways of thinking. With you as our Head: Fleet Sales, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our Fleet business.

With your expertise and experience of leading a sales team, as well as knowledge, networks and experience of the fleet industry, you will be responsible for managing and controlling the sales function within the Fleet and Asset Finance business unit. Your leadership will be central to providing our clients with world -class Fleet and Asset Finance solutions which add real value to their businesses.

Your day at Bidvest Bank will involve:

Financial Management

  • Formulate and implement a strategy for winning in the Bank's selected segments across various industries.
  • Develop and manage budgets and forecasts for the sales function based on strategic requirements.
  • Proactively manage sales performance in line with the Division's strategic objectives.
  • Control and manage costs and income in line with departmental and bank budget expectations.
  • Ensure the business unit achieves set-down targets through strategically selling fleet solutions and financing options to large corporates and other existing clients.
  • Deal structuring xe2x80x93 Working with clients as well as key internal stakeholders, structure mutually beneficial fleet and asset financing solutions for clients.
Stakeholder Management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to deliver services in accordance with the objectives of the organisation.
  • Maintain strategic external relationships to ensure that Bidvest Fleet and Asset Finance continues to be an industry player while also leveraging networks to increase new business opportunities for the Bank.
  • Interpret business/customer requirements and address customer queries and challenges to provide timeous solutions.
  • Interacting with other areas of the bank in acting as a catalyst in driving the changed initiatives in ensuring compliance with agreed risk parameters as set out in the bank's strategy.
  • Grow and manage the existing customer base through performing a needs analysis of customer current product usage and finding opportunities to offer diversified products, upselling and cross selling different options that add value to the client.
Operational Management
  • Ensure that the on-going strategic initiatives are evaluated, interpreted, and implemented in order to maintain an effective sales function within the Fleet and Asset Finance division.
  • Ensure all statutory and business reporting is done within predetermined deadlines (, monthly, quarterly and/or annually) in line with all relevant Regulations and the Bank's internal policies and procedures.
Good Governance & Compliance
  • Draft, implement and maintain applicable policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure optimal functioning of the sales business units.
  • Define, develop and implement the necessary procedures in conjunction with current procedures, to ensure that risk is minimised in all sales areas.
  • Conduct research of various industries, best practice methodologies and changes in markets thereby identifying risk to adjust areas in the business timeously.
  • Adherence to legislation and regulatory requirements.
People Management
  • Monitoring and managing the deliverables, output and performance of subordinates within the sales teams.
  • Develops talent by facilitating cross training, developing, coaching, mentoring & growing individuals & teams in the Business Units. Encourages career advancement endeavours.
  • Support & reinforce the application of newly acquired skills. Rewards the application of newly acquired skills & knowledge. Fosters a climate of continuous learning.
The ideal Head: Fleet Sales will be in possession of:
  • Business Management Degree or similar.
  • At least 8 years' experience leading a sales team at senior management level.
  • At least 8 years' experience in Fleet, solid sales, large corporate fleets experience.
  • Ability to compile and submit Credit applications while also coaching subordinates on aspects of Credit principles.
  • Proven sales track record.
  • Be a strategic thinker with an ability to translate strategy into product driven initiatives.
  • Good commercial and business acumen with the ability to foresee potential and or actual challenges as well as identify possible preventative measures.
