Job Description

A magical wine estate in Stellenbosch is seeking a HEAD CHEF to join their team.
The establishment is a popular destination with a busy restaurant, as well as an active function and wedding venue. The ideal candidate will be a strong culinary leader who can manage a fast-paced environment and handle administrative duties with precision. The candidate should have a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences and a desire to contribute to a dynamic team.
Candidate Requirements:

  • Ability to manage a busy restaurant pass and coordinate orders with a team.
  • Strong experience in handling functions and wedding catering.
  • Excellent cooking skills, with a particular strength in baking.
  • Proficiency in menu planning, stock control, and costings.
  • Must be fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
  • Computer literacy is required.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with guests and staff.
  • A friendly personality and professional appearance.
  • Customer service oriented, proactive, and able to multitask.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and show a high level of attention to detail.
  • Willing to work shifts, evenings, public holidays, and weekends.
  • Must be resident in or near Stellenbosch and have personal transport.
This is a live-out role.
