Head Chef - Luxury Safari Lodge - Soutpansberg Limpopo
Our client, a highly regarded luxury safari lodge in the Soutpansberg region of Limpopo, is seeking an accomplished and hands-on Head Chef to lead their culinary operation. This role suits an experienced lodge chef with strong leadership ability, creativity, and a deep understanding of remote hospitality operations.
This is a live-in position, offering a competitive package and the opportunity to work in a unique wilderness setting while delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Salary: R35 000 per month

Description
The Head Chef will have full responsibility for the kitchen operation, including menu development, food quality, staff management, stock control, and cost management.
You will lead and mentor the kitchen team, ensuring consistent standards across all meal services and special dining experiences.
Working closely with lodge management, you will align the culinary offering with the overall guest experience and the lodge's sustainability and conservation ethos. The role requires excellent planning, adaptability, and the ability to manage a kitchen in a remote lodge environment.
You will oversee supplier relationships, manage budgets, reduce waste, and ensure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
Salary: R35 000 per month

Minimum Requirements

• Formal culinary qualification
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior kitchen leadership role
• Previous luxury lodge experience essential
• Strong leadership and team development skills
• Proven experience in menu planning and cost control
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Passion for quality ingredients and refined presentation
