Job Summary HEAD CHEF - Iconic 5-Star Dining (Cape Town) Our client offers an iconic 5-star dining experience in the heart of Cape Town and is seeking an Experienced HEAD CHEF to spearhead the overall kitchen operations with the ability to lead a two service fine dining operation. The perfect individual is highly self-motivated, someone with a strong background relating to Fine Dine Cuisine with exceptional culinary skills, passionate about food, experienced in a sophisticated and focused kitchen environment, quality driven, a leader, stable and able to perform under pressure. Minimum Requirements: xe2x80xa2 A formal Culinary Education xe2x80xa2 Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Head Chef, leading a highly motivated kitchen team, with a love for sophisticated dining xe2x80xa2 Stable and solid track record with contactable references xe2x80xa2 International culinary experience will be advantageous xe2x80xa2 Valid driver's license and own reliable transport xe2x80xa2 A notice period of no longer than 1 months' notice xe2x80xa2 Only local applicants from Cape Town will be accepted Key Responsibilities: xe2x80xa2 Menu engineering, costing, recipe design and testing, kitchen budget management xe2x80xa2 Strong financial and administrative competence to drive through commercial efficiencies, kitchen budgets and to ensure profitability xe2x80xa2 Strict stock controls and management, stock movement, rotation, ordering, supplier liaison and price negotiations xe2x80xa2 Excellent control of food cost, wastage and kitchen preparation xe2x80xa2 Ongoing staff training and development and staff recruitment xe2x80xa2 Ensuring the team has high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety Key Skills Required: xe2x80xa2 The position requires a creative and a hands-on approach to food preparation and cooking xe2x80xa2 Creative and passionate about the culinary industry xe2x80xa2 Strong operational and administrative skills xe2x80xa2 Ability to lead and manage a team of people effectively xe2x80xa2 Strong operational and management skills, day-to-day, and long-term xe2x80xa2 Excellent interpersonal skills xe2x80xa2 Excellent problem solving skills xe2x80xa2 Resourceful, creative and forward thinking xe2x80xa2 Adaptable to change xe2x80xa2 Computer literate Remuneration: R33 000 Neg Start Date: Asap APPLY DETAILS: Email your updated CV, supporting documents and food profile to Zelda: Due to the high volume of CV's received, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
