Duties & ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Management
Provide strong leadership across all kitchen departments.
Ensure smooth coordination between Back of House and Front of House through effective communication.
Delegate and assign daily tasks to maintain consistent quality and efficiency.
Coordinate daily with Sous Chefs and senior team members to plan production and service.
Guide, train, and motivate staff to maintain a professional and efficient work environment.
Maintain a safe, hygienic, and friendly working environment.
Culinary Operations
Oversee daily food preparation in all sections: hot, cold, and pastry.
Develop new recipes and menu items aligned with the restaurant's concept.
Ensure food production, preparation, and presentation consistently meet the highest quality standards.
Estimate daily production needs and assess quality of raw and cooked food products.
Maintain full awareness of menu items, recipes, methods, and presentation standards.
Operate and maintain department equipment, reporting any faults immediately.
Quality, Hygiene & Standards
Uphold restaurant service standards and lead quality control efforts.
Enforce correct procedures for food handling, storage, preservation, and sanitation.
Ensure FIFO, correct stock rotation, and regular checks on expiry dates.
Set an example of personal hygiene and cleanliness on and off duty.
Stock Control & Cost Management
Order stock, maintain par levels, and conduct monthly stock takes.
Input stock data accurately and monitor food costs and operational budgets.
Update and maintain recipe cards, including accurate costing.
Communication & Coordination
Follow instructions from senior management and complete daily/weekly/monthly tasks as required.
Communicate daily with Restaurant Managers and the Executive Chef regarding functions, events, and operational updates.
Provide daily feedback and report issues promptly.
Additional Duties
Carry out any other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
At least 2-4 years of experience
in a similar Head Chef role.
Proven leadership, staff management, and kitchen administration skills.
Strong recipe development abilities and an eye for detail.
Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
Reliable, punctual, and able to meet deadlines while supporting the team.
