Job Description
A handyman performs general maintenance and repair tasks for homeowners or commercial clients, including basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work. Responsibilities also involve assembling furniture, fixing appliances, painting, and performing seasonal or preventative maintenance on both indoor and outdoor areas. Key requirements include proficiency with various tools, problem-solving skills, and physical ability for manual tasks. Key responsibilities
Repairs:
Fix minor issues in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, such as leaky faucets, faulty light fixtures, and broken appliances.Carpentry:
Perform tasks like building shelves, installing cabinets, or repairing doors and windows.Assembly and installation:
Assemble and install furniture, shelving, and other fixtures.Painting and decorating:
Paint walls, ceilings, and other surfaces, or handle wallpapering.Maintenance and inspection:
Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and address potential problems.Outdoor work:
Perform light landscaping, such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and basic garden maintenance.General tasks:
Handle a variety of other duties, such as cleaning gutters, changing light bulbs, and moving equipment.Required skills and qualifications
Technical skills:
Strong knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry. Experience with HVAC is a plus.Tool proficiency:
Ability to safely operate a wide range of hand and power tools.Problem-solving:
Skill in diagnosing and fixing various issues.Physical fitness:
Stamina, strength, and dexterity for tasks like lifting heavy objects and working in tight or awkward spaces.Customer service:
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and understand their needs.Organizational skills:
Good time management to handle multiple tasks and projects efficiently.Education:
